Studio McW is an award winning architect studio that had an intriguing issue with their name. Pronounced ‘Studio M-C-W’, they were keen to avoid being referred to as ‘Studio Mc-W’. To solve the issue I created a vertically-read monogram, where the letter size stayed true to the name, however always be read as separate letters. In a market flooded with minamilist wordmarks the monogram became a distinctive brand asset.
